If this is your first visit to my blog, welcome! If you’ve visited my blog in the past, you’ll notice a lot has changed.
I created the previous incarnation of this blog shortly after founding a fledgling startup in late 2015. I had intended to use the blog to document and share my experience of building a new startup when an odd thing happened that caused me to divert all my effort and energy elsewhere. Because of this, I didn’t post anything of consequence here, and so I’ve deleted the previous version of this site, and am starting again.
What is this blog for/about?
Good question.
This blog will be an outlet for me to discuss various topics that are near and dear to me, and hopefully interesting to you!
Some posts will be about my tech and software development. Others will discuss what I’ve learned about working in software engineering for almost 30 years, including opportunites grasped, mistakes made, lessons learned, etc.
I’ll also be delving into subjects unrelated to tech and software development, including personal finance & investing, etc.
More interestingly however, is what YOU want this blog to be about!
What would you like to know about a career in software engineering, IT, technology, and related areas? What would you like to know about working and living in a different country; I’m from the UK, and have lived & worked in both the UK and US). What would you like to know from someone who’s made or has witnessed pretty much every mistake there is? Are you facing challenges, issues, decisions, etc. that you’d appreciate an independent perspective of?
I want this blog to contain content that matters to you too! So do let me know what YOU would like to see in future posts!
So…
In the meantime, let’s get started with the first post …
